It is time for the Provincial Government to review the course they have set for BC Ferries. Rapidly rising fares are already negatively impact the social and economic viability of my community. Plus, higher fares are leading to lower usage – which means lowered revenues, not higher, for BCFS. If Government support in the form of service fees do not keep up with operating costs, the way will be clear for service reductions. The Government needs to act.

A legislative committee needs to be formed, with open public consultation to ensure a stable and viable ferry service is in place for the future of Coastal British Columbia.

Sincerely,
